Airline loyalty programme members have been redeeming rewards since the 1970’s when the first frequent flyer programme (as we know them today) was launched by United Airlines.
However, loyalty programmes have come a long way since then, from offering free flights and upgrades to a much wider and more diverse range of content. But, with 9/10 respondents from our research saying that their redemption experience could be improved, there is clearly more that needs to be done.
