The travel recovery of tomorrow, starts with the Lounge Legends of today

As Manager of the Customer Services and Administration departments at Malta International Airport, Thomas is responsible for the overall operation and upkeep of La Valette Club’s VIP lounge.

Having already gained a wealth of professional experience over the past five years, Thomas is now looking to further his studies in his field of work by reading for a Master of Science in Air Transport Management.

During his free time, Thomas keeps himself busy by refining his culinary skills and following both local and international sports, with football being his sport of choice. Thomas is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to better himself and the services provided by the airport departments he is responsible for and is currently brainstorming what his next big project could possibly be.

Lounge Chef Malcolm Agius has been working at Malta International Airport since 2018 and is tasked with preparing a spread of local delicacies and light refreshments which appeal to the varying tastes of all lounge guests.

Malcolm ensures that the choice, quality and presentation of the food presented to guests meets the high standards of La Valette Club. Prior to this he gained valuable experience in a customer-facing role with one of the airport’s stakeholders.

Malcolm is at his happiest exploring the Maltese beaches and countryside with his dogs, as well as organising and participating in clean-ups in and around his hometown, but he also enjoys travelling. The aspect he loves most about visiting new places is the opportunity to learn new languages, meet new people and learn more about different cultures.

Rosemarie Barbara is a Receptionist in the La Valette Club’s VIP Lounge at Malta International Airport. In this role, Rosemarie is responsible for greeting lounge guests and explaining which services and amenities are available inside our lounge.

Entering her ninth year at Malta International Airport, Rosemarie is also the contact person for members of the La Valette Club and other loyalty programme members who need help while visiting the lounge when travelling out of the Maltese Islands.

Rosemarie’s job at Malta International Airport has only intensified her love of travelling, and whenever she can plans getaways to places she has never visited before. In her free time, Rosemarie also enjoys reading and spending quality time with her nearest and dearest.

Elizabeth Camilleri joined Malta International Airport a year ago as a Hostess at La Valette Club’s VIP Lounge. Part of her role is to make sure that the needs of all guests are attended to. This has become even more important over the past year, and during this time she has worked with the airport to introduce new health and safety measures into the lounge.

Elizabeth brings a solid set of customer service skills and a keen interest in the aviation and tourism industries, which she gained through previously working as a ground hostess with one of the airport’s ground handling companies. She continues to build on these skills in her current role.

An avid traveller, Elizabeth plans frequent trips abroad to visit her foreign relatives and enjoys going for long walks in the countryside. Elizabeth is also quite the chef when it comes to cooking; she learnt the ropes when she was still a child, and cooking for her friends and family has now become one of her favourite pastimes. 

Ruben is a barman at the Grand Lounge Elite, where he’s worked for almost six years. He serves guests with attention and creativity, offering an experience that’s adapted to the taste of each guest. It’s a pleasure for him to see his guests enjoying the drinks he’s made for them – especially when they ask for another round. His direct contact with the guests creates a bond that takes the bar experience to a different level, a benchmark of the Grand Lounge Elite.

Ruben loves languages and talking with people from other countries. What he enjoys most about working in the airport is meeting new people and learning about other cultures.

Ana has been working as a receptionist at the Grand Lounge Elite for six years. With her customer experience and warmth, she guarantees that a guest’s first interaction with the lounge is a pleasant one, setting them up for an enjoyable stay. She also provides timely information on flights, boarding and helps with anything else that guests might require.

Thousands of people with many different cultures and customs visit the airport. Although it can be a challenge to meet all these different needs, Ana finds it incredibly rewarding. In fact, it’s something she enjoys everyday – especially when guests leave the lounge with a smile, grateful for the help they’ve received.

Eduardo is the leader of Operations at the Grand Lounge Elite and joined in 2018. His role is to help to guarantee excellent service and continually exceed the expectations of each visitor, encouraging them to return to the lounge.

He has worked in the restaurant and hotel sector for 11 years, including in roles with brands such as the Holiday Inn, Gran Melía and Dominion Corporate Housing. He also has experience working in first-class restaurants in Mexico City such as Biko, Pujol, and Delirio, to name a few. Eduardo finds working in an airport to be an amazing experience and thinks it’s something that everyone should experience. What he enjoys most about working in the airport is seeing people from all over the world, hearing different languages and learning about cultural diversity and tolerance.

Adriana has been Deputy Director of Security, Biosecurity and Civil Protection at the Grand Lounge Elite for the last three years. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for both passengers and employees.

She has worked in different parts of the world which has given her a broad understanding of different cultures, their tastes and needs. Within her work experience are companies such as the International Airport of Mexico City, Sky Airlines, Nextel, Volaris, Aeroméxico, among others.

Adriana’s main goal is to create meaningful and impactful experiences to bring the best service to all visitors of the Grand Lounge Elite. She is passionate about people and aeroplanes and says that the adrenaline that comes from working in an airport keeps her going.

Inan is the Executive Chef for BTA Food & Beverage at Muscat International Airport. He is responsible for delivering the best dining services and experiences across all food and beverage outlets in the airport. This includes coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and all food and beverage operations at Primeclass Muscat Lounge.

Inan and his team bring together their varied experience and culinary knowledge to ensure all guests of Primeclass Muscat experience a 5-star service.

Inan has a background in luxury hotels and 24 years of culinary experience. Previously he worked for Hilton International for over 15 years, in different cities around the world. He has also completed the Culinary Management programme organized by the Institute Poul Bocuse and Hilton University in the city of Athens, Greece.

Being part of a multicultural team, and enjoying the architectural design of the airport are the things he likes most about his role. In his spare time, Inan likes to play the lute, and to create cooking videos for his YouTube channel.

As a Lounge Supervisor, Ronn is responsible for managing and monitoring meet and assist services, fast track points and the lounge.

The Primeclass Lounge has a wide range of offerings for its guests, including a buffet and bar, game zone area, massage spa and private rooms. Ronn’s role involves making sure that all these services exceed expectations. This requires buffet management and the continuous monitoring and maintaining of health and safety.

Ronn has more than five years’ experience in travel and hospitality and delivering exceptional customer services to passengers. Prior to joining the Primeclass Muscat lounge team, Ronn worked as a Passenger Services Agent for several airlines in the Philippines. She likes working in the airport for the diversity of the workplace and meeting passengers from different cultures.

When she has time to spare, Ronn loves travelling and swimming.

Jumeileen is a Lounge Agent with a strong knowledge and experience in airport and lounge operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in tourism and has 4 years’ experience working in the aviation sector, where she has taken the opportunity to build upon her analytical, leadership, customer service and organisational skills.

Jumeileen also has experience working across a number of computer systems, is adept at effectively managing the varied workload that her role requires and explaining processes in a clear and friendly manner whilst putting passengers at ease in stressful situations. She is motivated by welcoming passengers to the lounge and seeing them smile during their visit.

When she’s not working, Jumeileen enjoys travelling and reading.

Kristine has been working at Muscat International Airport for four years as Lounge Supervisor, a role which has led her to excel in customer service. Her role includes the supervision of all operations at the Primeclass Lounge, always ensuring the highest levels of customer service. Kristine also holds responsibility for continuous improvement and updating of the lounge’s current standards and recommended practices. She enjoys interacting with travellers and providing them with the warmth of hospitality.

Kristine holds a degree in Tourism Management from the Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. During her free time, she loves baking and watching movies.

Mehdi is Operation Manager for TAV Operation Services Oman. He is responsible for the delivery of premium services at Muscat International Airport, which includes lounges, meet and assist, and porter services.

Mehdi brings a wealth of experience in hospitality having worked in airport lounges for 10 years. Mehdi makes his mark wherever he works, by continuously implementing new ideas and concepts that are in-line with the latest developments in the aviation industry and with meeting passengers’ expectations. He enjoys working in the lounge as it allows him to interact with people from all over the world.

In his spare time, Mehdi is passionate about football and diving.

Bac Tran provides customer services at the Song Hong Business Lounge in Noi Bai International, Hanoi, Vietnam. His main duties include welcoming guests, telling them about the services available and checking them in and out of the lounge. He also helps customers with flight information, contact with airlines and any other needs.

Bac has worked in airport services for two years and this is his first time working in a lounge. He loves working at the airport, which brings new surprises every day, and being surrounded by people from all over the world. He enjoys speaking different languages, reading and spending time at home.

Hai Chu is a member of the Presentation & Cleaning Team at Song Hong Business Lounge in Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, Vietnam. His daily duties involve cleaning and arranging all equipment, including dining utensils, and making sure the lounge meets the required standards. Hai says customers always expect a clean space to relax in when they are waiting for a flight.

Hai is the type of person who is very patient, meticulous and hard working. He previously worked as a leader in a fine dining restaurant in Hanoi for three years, giving Hai lots of experience before he came to work in the lounge.

In his free time, he enjoys reading books, watching football, and exploring his city by motorbike.

Phuong Tang is a member of the Food & Beverage Team at the  Song Hong Business Lounge in Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, Vietnam. Her main duty is food and dish presentation and making sure that food and drinks are kept in hygienic and safe conditions. She is always excited to introduce travellers to the great cuisine available in the lounge and helps them to choose the most suitable dishes. She loves it when guests enjoy their meal.

Phuong is well trained in food presentation. Before joining us at the lounge, she spent over a year working in a 5-star hotel. She also helps out at her family’s coffee house, working as a manager.

Phuong often travels and spends most of her time enjoying the food at the places she visits. She also loves to show off her cooking skills in the kitchen and creating delicious dishes for her whole family.
