Over nearly a decade, we’ve donated more than £500K to Coach Core, helping deliver more than 1,000 apprenticeships that help young people build leadership skills and find meaningful work in sport and beyond.
The Shadow Careers programme in South Africa, prepares disadvantaged youth with intensive hospitality training and essential life skills. The result: 99% of graduates transition into stable employment.
Teach For Hong Kong reaches 360 students a year, placing future leaders in underserved schools to drive student success and long-term change.

In partnership with Shadow Careers, we’re creating sustainable career paths for South African youth who are often excluded from the traditional workforce.
The programme equips school leavers with intensive training, mentorship and the chance to join customer service teams, including within the Collinson Group itself. So far, we’ve welcomed three Shadow Careers cohorts into our Cape Town office, with a fourth currently in progress.
We work with Teach For Hong Kong to promote educational equality by placing talented graduates as full-time teachers in under-resourced schools.
These young professionals not only deliver quality education but also act as catalysts for systemic change. Our first Collinson-sponsored cohort began teaching this year in 2025, and we look forward to welcoming students to our offices to learn more about the travel sector.
As our founding charity partner for nearly a decade, we support Coach Core in their work to help young people overcome barriers to employment through sports coaching.
Alongside financial support, we’ve provided office space and taken part in fundraising events. Our colleagues have run, walked, and cycled for Coach Core, including our CEO, who joined Team Collinson at the Blenheim Triathlon.
Our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is rooted in a shared belief in the power of mentorship to shape better futures.
What began as an employee-led initiative has grown into a regional partnership, with our colleagues volunteering through mentoring, back-to-school packing, and lunch-and-learn sessions. By supporting one-on-one connections that build confidence, academic growth, and long-term aspirations, the Collinson Foundation helps BBBS reach more students and create opportunities where they’re needed most.

Savannah’s graduation was more than just a personal achievement, but a culmination of years of mentorship made possible through Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Dallas. BBBS Dallas is dedicated to igniting the potential of young people by pairing them with committed mentors who offer guidance, friendship, and inspiration.
As the first in her family to attend college, Savannah received a full four-year scholarship to the University of Florida thanks to BBBS Dallas’ and her Big Sister, Malena Mendez’s support.
Crossing the stage at graduation with her family proudly watching, Savannah reflected on the journey that brought her there and the mentoring relationship that shaped it. Now, with her degree in hand, she’s setting her sights high, aiming to one day become a CEO and inspire the next generation of young leaders.
Nicole’s journey is one of determination, resilience, and the transformative power of opportunity. Once told her learning needs were “too severe” for mainstream education, she found herself in a schooling environment that didn’t match her abilities or ambitions.
Joining Essex Cricket in the Community, Nicole found an employer willing to take a chance on someone with no cricket experience but plenty of spirit. The team built trust from day one, giving her structure, guidance, and the space to grow. From observing sessions to running her own programmes in schools, and with support from her tutor Layla, Nicole is a confident coach today.
An inspiring role model and living proof of what’s possible when talent is recognised and nurtured; her success isn’t just her own, but a testament to how the right environment and mentorship can transform potential into achievement.
The Collinson Group’s partnership with Shadow Careers tackles youth unemployment in South Africa, by opening opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to enter the Global Business Services sector. The first intake of 20 graduates provided key insights, leading to a smaller, more focused second group of 10. This shift allowed for personalised training and closer alignment with operational needs, resulting in a 100% retention rate.
Seeing the programme’s success, the Collinson Foundation extended its role with a philanthropic contribution to help sustain and grow Shadow Careers. This funding supports expansion while maintaining high-quality training, enabling more young professionals to gain stable employment and essential skills for long-term success.
To date, Shadow Careers has created over 1,900 permanent roles in Cape Town and Durban, achieving an impressive 99% placement rate.
