In 2024, we donated over £350,000 to charities working to support people in times of crisis. These contributions helped provide emergency relief, shelter, and essential supplies.
Through our Matched Funding, Community Grants and Volunteering programmes in 2024, our people supported over 200 different charities who work with people in times of crisis.
I’ve been blessed with many memorable experiences as a Police Reserve, assisting with medical emergencies, reuniting a lost child, inspiring young girls, but one stands out: At a parade, I helped a Korean War veteran park, unload his wheelchair, and find a shaded spot to watch. I sat with him for a while, and soon realised he was lonely-his wife had recently passed. He shared stories about her, cried and I cried with him. After the parade, I helped him leave safely. He was grateful, but I was just as thankful for the chance to listen. It was a humbling, rewarding moment.

When disaster strikes, rapid response is vital. Since 2022, Collinson has contributed over £1 million in our partnership with Save the Children. This is mostly earmarked to the Save the Children Emergency Fund, helping deliver immediate aid to children and families in crisis. The fund enables action within hours, reaching more people than ever in 2024; supporting 71 countries, with 29% of funding decisions made in under two days.
Beyond funding, we’re proud founding members of the Humanitarian Network, a collaborative alliance mobilising resources and innovation to protect children before, during, and after emergencies. Our people also play a key role, rallying behind the Emergency Fund through fundraising, awareness, and challenge events.
While our partnership with Save the Children helps us respond to global emergencies, we know crises also hit close to home. That’s why we support local charities helping people through life’s toughest challenges. In the UK, we partnered with The Felix Project, and in 2024, our support helped provide over 41,970 meals to vulnerable Londoners.
Globally, nearly 35% of our support went to disaster relief and social welfare causes, reaching over 200 organisations across all our office regions. From food banks and shelters to veteran and community support, we help make sure aid reaches those who need it most. Our people also drive impact through initiatives like Impact HK and Ladles of Love, providing essentials to those in need.
Meath Women’s Refuge offers vital protection and support for women and children escaping domestic violence in Ireland. Their services are comprehensive and compassionate: 24-hour emergency accommodation, a confidential helpline, counselling, legal advocacy and child-focused support programmes all come together to provide a lifeline during times of crisis. The organisation’s work extends far beyond offering physical shelter and creates a space where survivors can begin to feel safe, rebuild their confidence, and plan. With trauma-informed care at its core, Meath Women’s Refuge is not just a place of safety, but a critical partner in breaking the cycle of abuse.
Ladles of Love is transforming the fight against hunger in South Africa through a powerful combination of compassion, dignity and scale. With a mission rooted in uplifting vulnerable communities, the organisation delivers nutritious meals to children, families, and individuals facing food insecurity across the Western Cape, Northern Cape, and Gauteng. Their Nourish Our Children programme currently feeds 6,500 children and their teachers, helping fuel minds and bodies during critical developmental years. In 2025, the goal is to expand this reach to 10,000 children. Ladles of Love is not only addressing immediate hunger,but also strengthening community resilience and giving young lives the foundation for a healthier, more hopeful future.
When disaster strikes, our people act as one team. Our recent response to the devastating floods in Central Texas is a powerful example. In the wake of torrential rains that left homes destroyed, communities displaced, and lives tragically lost, we rallied together to provide support where it was needed most. The Collinson Foundation made a donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, directly helping families who are navigating the immediate aftermath of this crisis.
Our impact didn’t end there: through our dedicated giving platform, colleagues across the business have been able to contribute to trusted relief organisations, including TEXSAR: Texas Search and Rescue and the Red Cross of Central and South Texas.
For those on the ground in Texas, colleagues were encouraged to use their three Volunteer Days to aid local relief efforts, from distributing supplies to assisting recovery operations, provided it was safe to do so. This combination of financial support, Matched Giving, and hands-on volunteering demonstrates how we can respond with speed, compassion, and impact leading to meaningful action for communities in crisis.
For more than a decade, Wendy Pedigo, Partnership Executive at Priority Pass, has devoted her weekends to the cats and dogs of SPCA Second Chance Plano, TX- the only no-kill shelter in her area.
Volunteering nearly 2,000 hours over the years, Wendy plays a hands-on role in giving at-risk animals a safe, loving environment until they find their forever families. Her work ranges from feeding and cleaning to walking dogs, playing with cats, answering adoption enquiries, and supporting fundraising events. The shelter rescues animals, from municipal facilities, many of whom have faced neglect or abandonment, and provides the care and rehabilitation they need to thrive.
One of Wendy’s most memorable experiences was helping an older dog who had been returned to the shelter after years with a family. Heartbroken and afraid, the dog resisted affection for weeks. Through patience, love, and consistent care, Wendy helped her regain trust. Months later, the dog was adopted into a new, loving home where she could live out her days in comfort. It’s moments like these that keep Wendy committed and turning stories of loss into second chances.
Barbara Flood, Claims Assessor in Kells, Ireland, is using her skills in community leadership to tackle gender-based violence. As a volunteer group lead for Meath Women’s Refuge’s Zero Tolerance project, Barbara assists in piloting a three-year initiative aiming to educate communities and support survivors.
Barbara’s connection with Meath Women’s Refuge began in her role as a Collinson Community Champion, where she organised the donation of 50 education packs for children who had fled their homes. Staying in touch with the organisation led to her joining Zero Tolerance and pursuing her BA in Leadership and Community Development to come to life. She also spearheads awareness-building activities, such as a planned “Lunch and Learn” session for colleagues, ensuring the project garners wider support.
As a mother of two daughters, the work is deeply personal for Barbara and driven by her vision for a safer future for all women.
