Collinson gives O2 customers airport lounge access during flight delays

Collinson teams up with mobile network operator O2 to help relieve flight delay stress with complimentary lounge access for Priority members.

Collinson and mobile network operator, O2, have joined forces to give Priority customers access to airport lounges worldwide during flight delays. With Priority–SmartDelay, customers whose flights are delayed for an hour or more will have complimentary access to 1,200 lounges in 500+ airports in over 100 countries.

With Priority-SmartDelay, Priority customers can relax in the comfort of the lounge environment as they wait for their flight. Lounge access includes complimentary snacks and refreshments, free Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines, as well as use of conference and business facilities subject to availability. Away from the busy departure halls, travellers will be able to rest, charge their devices and unwind. Priority customers can also bring up to three accompanying guests with them to enjoy the same benefits, so family and friends can relax with them while they wait for their flight.

Richard Coleman, European Director at Collinson, said: “We are excited for this joint venture with O2, which marks our first partnership with a telco brand for this solution. Flight delays are never welcome, but we want to ensure travellers can make the very best of it if possible. We want to take the stress out of a delayed flight experience and just let guests relax at the airport while they wait to board. Just last year, the UK had the second highest number of flight delays and disruptions in Europe, with over 175,000 flights affected[1]. Our SmartDelay solution enables travellers to have a hassle-free experience by receiving instant lounge access straight away, without having to deal with a long claims process.”

Maya Murcell, Head of Priority at O2, added: “Priority aims to bring our customers invite-only moments from exclusive experiences to the little treats that make them smile. During this busy travel period we want to ensure customers’ experience is as smooth as possible should they face delays. The SmartDelay partnership is a key step in helping to give Priority customers peace of mind when they travel.”

To use the new benefit, Priority customers must visit the offer page in their Priority app and register their flight details no later than the departure time. If the registered flight is delayed by more than 60 minutes, customers will immediately receive a complimentary airport lounge access voucher via email.

Priority is exclusive to O2 customers and brings a collection of invite-only moments to help them do more of the things they love. From exclusive treats and experiences, to access to the best in entertainment.
