It’s awards season and we have a lot to celebrate!

It’s that time to celebrate the wins of the year, even with the troubles of the pandemic and the impact it had on the travel industry, Collinson has a lot to celebrate. With wins from around the globe for numerous solutions we have continued to assist in helping the travel ecosystem recover.

Our Airport Dimensions division, the global leader in airport lounges and travel experiences, has received official recognition of its outstanding achievements by receiving prestigious industry awards. The first was a top prize at this year’s World Travel Awards, where its Club Aspire Lounge at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 was named as Europe’s Leading Airport Lounge 2021. The premium lounge, developed in partnership with Swissport (SwissportALD) provides passengers with a quiet, safe space to relax and benefit from a wide range of luxury travel services, from complimentary digital newspapers and unlimited WiFi to a free seasonal hot food menu and a Business Zone for business travellers.

Airport Dimensions, alongside Priority Pass, aviation services company Swissport and hospitality technology experts Servy, also won with our contactless, in Lounge Food and Beverage Ordering Solution Ready 2 Order won the European FAB Superstars Award for Innovation for the implementation in the Club Aspire Lounge in London Heathrow Terminal 5. FAB Superstars was created to shine a light on the frontline and behind-the-scenes heroes and heroines who have helped keep the industry going throughout 2020 and into this year. Ready 2 Order was developed with our investment partner Servy to provide a contactless solution that would help maintain the provision of complementary food and drinks to members in lounge, whilst keeping guests and staff safe.

Our SmartDelay team won the Travel Product Innovation award at the International Travel Insurance conference in Madrid enhanced SmartDelay product, ‘SmartDelay Plus’. In the event of flight delay and/or cancellation, travellers will not only have to access to Collinson’s global LoungeKey™ network of over 1,100 lounges but we have enhanced SmartDelay to widen the scope of coverage and offer more than just lounge vouchers. Customers can now alternatively claim a financial value for food or drink at selected airside restaurant and bars globally, and we can now also provide instant cash compensation payments to customers via a number of options, including PayPal or directly into a customer’s card account. We are delighted to accept this award after such a turbulent year and this win not only rewards the team that has been working across Collinson to integrate our lounge and insurance products all through COVID but will spur us on to continue to innovate going forward. .
