Collinson, owner and operator of Priority Pass™ Access India, a dedicated airport experiences programme for India, and LoungeKey™ Pass, an international digital travel experiences programme, announces its partnership with Niyo Global, a pioneer focused on innovative travel banking solutions. This strategic partnership seeks to revolutionise travel experiences for eligible Niyo Global cardholders by providing them with complimentary access to airport lounges and travel experiences through Collinson’s globally acclaimed LoungeKey™ programme.
Through this strategic agreement, Niyo Global cardholders are entitled to a complimentary lounge pass which enables access to LoungeKey’s network of international terminals in Indian airports. Additionally, based on the cardholders’ spend, an additional complimentary visit will be awarded once a threshold is reached, where the cardholder can choose from over 1,500 airport lounges and travel experiences across the globe through Collinson’s LoungeKey™ programme. The initiative aligns seamlessly with Collinson's mission to enhance travel experiences and cater to the evolving needs of modern travellers.
While travel is on the rise, a new trend dubbed ‘FOSO, a fear of switching off’ is also emerging. According to new global research from Priority Pass, the original and market-leading airport experiences programme, owned and operated by Collinson, which surveyed 8,500 people across 11 countries (1,000 from India) – over a third (35%) find it difficult to truly switch off from everyday life while on holiday. Respondents were also asked about the airport experiences that help them relax and prepare for their trips, in response to which travellers in India ranked visiting an airport lounge as their most preferred airport experience to “switch off” before their trip begins.
Complementing the global FOSO research, Collinson’s latest Asia Pacific-based consumer insights report – The New Rules of Engagement: Customer Expectations Revealed – shared that 86% of consumers in India perceive the experiences that brands and companies provide to be as important as its products and/or services. Against this “Customer Experience Era”, travel-related rewards and benefits have emerged as a rising opportunity for financial services brands to drive better commercial returns. Eight in ten consumers in India are more likely to use their payment cards for travel and everyday expenses should the payment card offer travel-related rewards or benefits.
Sumit Prakash, Country Director, India and South Asia at Collinson, expressed his views on the partnership, stating, "Indian travellers usually prefer to visit an airport lounge or indulge in other travel-related experiences before their vacation, to relax and rejuvenate."
"Our partnership with Niyo Global serves to enhance the travel experience of their cardholders by offering premium, unparalleled airport services. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to this important audience when they step into our network of airport lounges and travel experiences."
